Our Team

Bob Landers, Owner & President

Bob Landers, Owner & President

Bob purchased Drake Cabinets in 2013, after spending 42 years in the construction and remodeling business. During this time, he owned his own business for 35 years and continuously adapted to changing trends throughout the industry. Bob holds an Unrestricted Construction Supervisor License and is a registered home improvement contractor, with extensive experience in construction sales and construction management. Outside of his role at Drake Cabinets, he enjoys spending time with his wife of 36 years, Diane, his daughter, and two grandsons. He also has several hobbies and enjoys golfing when he has the time.

Mark Karas, CMKBD, CR Designer, General Manager

Mark Karas, CMKBD, CR Designer, General Manager

Mark is a nationally recognized designer, with nearly 40 years of experience in the kitchen and bath industry. He has been a member of the Board of Directors for the National Kitchen & Bath Association, and served as the organization’s president in 2010. He has also served as an adjunct professor for both Boston Architectural College and Endicott College. A well-known public speaker, Mark is just as at home in front of a crowd as he is during a one-on-one design consultation. His enthusiasm for the industry is infectious and his tireless dedication to improving the remodeling and building process for clients is amazing.

Testimonials

Drake Cabinets took care of everything, from discarding the rubble to reinforcing the structure of the house, overseeing the total remaking of the plumbing, heating, air conditioning, and even modifying the roof after the necessary removal of a chimney. During all this time I was in daily contact with Bob Landers or his staff of very professional and dedicated people. The work was done as scheduled and the quoted expenses were never increased by Drake Cabinets or by their contractors. I would highly recommend Drake Cabinets and Bob Landers to anyone in need of remodeling or even restoring a house.

- Marie Hauville

Before tearing down walls and ceilings to accommodate the new HVAC, Mark and Bob worked out countless renditions and “what if” scenarios for the kitchen layout. With an older home, it often came down to literally an inch or two between our preference and having to settle. Their perseverance was amazing and, somehow, the Drake team made it work without any compromising or having to bust the bank. In fact we came under budget, and that was even after a complete and unplanned reconfiguration.

Initial Consultation

Initial Consultation

Whether you call or email us, we want you to eventually stop by our showroom. During this initial consultation we can discuss your wants and needs, learn what stage your project is in, give you additional details and requirements, and establish a rough budget. By visiting our showroom you can also see examples of our work, look at cabinet, countertop and other material samples, and start asking more detailed questions.

Additional Questions

Additional Questions

Are you building a new home or remodeling an existing space? What species, style, and stain of cabinetry do you like? How do you use your home office, kitchen, or bath? Now is the time for all of these questions and more. The more we know about your home and your design personality, the better we can design your new space. This also helps us determine layouts and built-in features. We use this time to help us design a project that exceeds your expectations.

Establish a Budget

Establish a Budget

While some homeowners are seasoned pros at remodeling spaces, a new kitchen or bath may be a daunting first project for others. Since we deal with a full spectrum of clients, one of our most important goals is to set realistic budget expectations and work with our clients to help them understand the true costs of remodeling a space. This also applies to our new construction projects, as well. We’ve worked with many customers building a house or purchasing a condo for the first time. Whatever the case may be, we are here to help establish a baseline for your project that works with your wants, needs, and overall budget.

Formalize Plans

Formalize Plans

Once the majority of questions and concerns are addressed, a budget is then set and we can be making formal plans. During this phase we use our expertise and knowledge to craft a kitchen, bath, or other space that is highly functional, timeless, and meets all of your wants and needs. This is the stage when our education and experience shine, especially Mark Karas’ CMKBD (Certified Master Kitchen and Bath Designer) status. As one of only a handful of CMKBD’s in the nation, he works with Bob to design and complete some of the best custom cabinetry installations in the region. Once these formalized plans are complete, the installation team takes over and you are on your way to having us create your new space.

Installation

Installation

Once custom and semi-custom cabinetry, appliances, flooring, and other materials have arrived, installation can begin. Our team of highly trained individuals will work to ensure that every design detail is flawlessly executed. The best designers are only as good as the team that brings their work to life, and we are proud of the people who turn our designs into reality. Installation times are dependent on the scope and complexity of each individual project, but it’s a safe bet to estimate 6–8 weeks for kitchens and less time for smaller or less complicated spaces.

Final Steps

Final Steps

When installation is almost finished, we will complete a final walk-through with you at your home. Our goal is to make you feel as comfortable as possible in your new space, with a full understanding of how everything works together in a unified and highly functional way. Our installation team will also leave your new kitchen, bath, built-in, laundry room, or office in ready-to-use condition, meaning less stress and hassle for you. Welcome to your new space!
